Switching power interruptions on September 21 in the northern part of Davao City and some parts of Davao del Norte

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Sunday, September 21, in the northern part of Davao City and some parts of Davao del Norte. These are necessary to facilitate line works at DRA Substation, Bunawan Substation, and Gredu Substation.


To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes anytime between 1:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m..


Specifically affected are those from Tadeco Road to New Malitbog and Tadeco Substation, including Manay Road, Alejal Road, Biopulp Carmen, La Libertad Road, and TADECO Central. Also affected are those from Sto. Tomas Substation to Sto. Tomas proper, including Kinawayan, Katipunan, Luna, and Marsman, portion of Daang Maharlika Highway in Panabo from Panabo City Hall up to the entire Panabo, including Gredu and portions of Carmen from Sto. Nino Elementary School to Tuganay.


To facilitate the necessary works, a 9-hour power interruption will also be conducted from 1:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., affecting customers in Bunawan, from Davao Central Convenience Store near Bunawan overpass going to Bunawan Public Market, Mahayag, Gatungan, Bosque, Piatos, and nearby areas, and portions of Purok 2 Sto. Nino Carmen.


Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 45 minutes anytime between 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.. Specifically affected are those along Maharlika Highway from the corner of Bangoy Street to the front of the National Irrigation Administration, including portions of Brgy. Gredu, Duterte Street, and nearby areas.


Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.


Safety is paramount to the company, and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity areas where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
