Switching power interruptions on September 13 and 16 in Davao City and IGACOS
Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Sunday and Wednesday, September 13 and 16, 2026, affecting some parts of Davao City and the Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS).
The first switching power interruption is necessary to facilitate line works in Catigan, Davao City. This will be 8 hours, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, affecting customers in Catigan, from the Task Force checkpoint corner Sirawan and Catigan Road, and nearby areas.
Lastly, customers in IGACOS will also experience switching power interruptions to facilitate substation works at Caliclic Substation. To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 30 minutes at any time between 12:01 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 30 minutes at any time between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on the same day.
Specifically affected are customers from the Phoenix Gas Station at Mae Wess Port to Circumferential Road to Brgy. Villarica, Moncado, Miranda in Babak up to Tambo, Camudmud, Cogon, Balet, and nearby areas; and from Kinawitnon Rotunda going to Mambago B, Mambago A, San Miguel via Kinawitnon Road up to Phil-Power Ventures (formerly MGC) and going to Catagman, Amaranta Beach, portions in Limao, and nearby areas.
To facilitate the necessary works, a 9-hour power interruption will be implemented from 12:01 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, affecting customers from Caliclic Coast Guard Substation going to Circumferential Road up to Phoenix Gas Station, including Bridgeport by Damosa Land, Club Samal, Mae Wess Port, Camp Holiday, and nearby areas.
Also affected are customers from Davao Light Caliclic Substation to Discovery Samal and portions of Limao.
Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.
