Switching power interruptions on October 25, 26, and 27 in Davao City and Davao del Norte

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, October 25, 26, and 27, affecting customers in different parts of Davao City and Davao del Norte.


The first set of switching power interruptions is necessary to conduct emergency substation works at Tadeco Substation and facilitate the demobilization of Sto. Tomas Mobile Substation. To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 1 hour anytime between 1:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 25. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 1 hour anytime between 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, to 1:00 a.m. on Monday, October 27.


Specifically affected are those from portions of Panabo City along Panabo-Tadeco Road from the crossing of DAPACOR to Gredu, including Barangays Dapco, AO Floirendo, New Casay, New Malitbog, Nanyo, New Visayas, Southern Davao, Manay, portions of Gredu, and nearby areas, the entire Municipalities of Sto. Tomas and Braulio E. Dujali, including Marsman, portions of Carmen along Sto. Tomas-Carmen Road from Triplex up to Tuganay, including Barangays Alejal, Tubod, New Camiling, Tuganay, Ising, and nearby areas.


Another normalization activity will be conducted for 1 hour, starting anytime between 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Monday, October 27. Specifically affected are those from portions of Panabo-Tadeco Road from the crossing of DAPACOR to Tanglaw, entire Municipalities of Sto. Tomas and Braulio E. Dujali, including Marsman, portions of Carmen along Sto. Tomas-Carmen Road from Triplex up to Tuganay, including Alejal, Tubod, New Camiling, Tuganay, and Ising.


The second set of switching power interruptions will be conducted to facilitate line works at DRA Substation, affecting Steel Asia. The loads will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes anytime between 1:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 26. Meanwhile, the return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 45 minutes anytime between 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on the same day.


To facilitate the necessary works, a 10-hour power interruption will be conducted from 1:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 26, affecting customers in Bunawan, from Davao Central Convenience Store near Bunawan Overpass going to Bunawan Public Market, Mahayag, Gatungan, Bosque, Piatos, and nearby areas.


Lastly, the third set of switching power interruptions will be conducted for the pole relocation activities along Tulip Street. The transfer of loads will be for 45 minutes anytime between 4:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 26. Meanwhile, the normalization will be conducted for 45 minutes anytime between 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on the same day.


Customers from ET KTV in Quimpo Boulevard to LTO in Quezon Boulevard, portions of Tulip Drive from the crossing of Jaroda Road up to Coastal Road, including portions of Ecoland Subdivision, Ecowest Drive, and Walnut Drive, and portions of Matina Aplaya Road from the crossing of Tulip up to Shanghai Square will be affected by these service disruptions.


In connection, a 5-hour power interruption will be conducted to facilitate the necessary activities. This will be from 4:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 26, affecting customers from portions of Tulip Drive from the crossing of Jaroda Road up to Home Crest Hotel and nearby areas.


Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.


Safety is paramount to the company, and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity areas where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
