Switching power interruptions on October 19 in Davao City and Davao del Norte

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Sunday, October 19, in Davao City and Davao del Norte.


The first set of switching power interruptions is necessary to conduct line works for the Gredu 69kV line and substation works at NGCP Bunawan. To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 45 minutes anytime between 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.


Specifically affected are those from portions of Daang Maharlika Highway in Panabo from Panabo City Hall up to the entire Panabo area, including portions of Gredu poblacion area; from Tadeco Road to new Malitbog and Tadeco Substation, including Manay Road, Alejal Road, Biopulp Carmen, La Libertad Road, and TADECO Central; and from Sto. Tomas Substation to Sto. Tomas proper, including Kinawayan, Katipunan, Luna, and Marsman.


A second set of switching power interruptions will be conducted to facilitate the necessary preliminary activities. This will be for 2 hours from 12:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. and another 2 hours from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on the same day. Customers from portions of Gredu going to Tadeco Road up to Nanyo Central Elementary School and nearby areas, and portions of Brgy. Gredu, Brgy. San Francisco (Poblacion), and portions of Carmen from Flying V Carmen going to Tuganay, and nearby areas will be affected by these service disruptions.


In connection, a 9-hour power interruption will be conducted to facilitate the necessary works. This will be anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., affecting customers from Panabo City Park to Petron fronting Panabo Central Elementary School, including Panabo City Market Complex, portions of Quirino St., Magsaysay Street, and from Davao Light Gredu Substation along Cabaluna Street up to Emcor Panabo, and nearby areas.


The third set of switching power interruptions is necessary to conduct transformer installation and line reconfiguration along Guerrero Street for the Underground Cabling Project in R. Magsaysay. The affected lines will be transferred for 45 minutes anytime between 3:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 45 minutes anytime between 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.


Specifically affected are those from Jacinto Street UnionBank going to J. Luna Street, including J. Dela Cruz Street, and from Landbank R. Magsaysay Branch going to Bohol Trading.


Lastly, a 10-hour power interruption will be conducted to facilitate the necessary works from 3:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., affecting customers along R. Magsaysay Street from the corner of Guerrero Street to Sta. Ana Central Elementary School, J. Luna Street from the corner of Guerrero Street to the corner of D. Suazo St., and nearby areas.


Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.


Safety is paramount to the company, and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity areas where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
