Switching power interruptions on November 30 in Davao City and Sto. Tomas

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct a series of switching power interruptions on Sunday, November 30, 2025, in Davao City and the Municipality of Sto. Tomas.


The first set of switching power interruptions is necessary to facilitate the necessary works related to the underground cabling project. To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes anytime between 4:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 45 minutes anytime between 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.


Specifically affected are those from Jacinto Street Unionbank to J. Luna Street, including J. Dela Cruz Street, from Landbank R. Magsaysay Branch to Bohol Trading.


In connection, an 8-hour power interruption will be conducted, from 4:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, affecting customers along R. Magsaysay street from the corner of Guerrero Street to Sta. Ana Central Elementary School, and J. Luna Street from the corner of Guerrero St. to the corner of D. Suazo Street and nearby areas.


Meanwhile, the second power interruption is necessary to facilitate line upgrading works along Gumalang-Suawan. This will be an 8-hour power interruption from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. affecting customers along Davao-Bukidnon Road from Gumalang, in front of Apo Agua, up to the entire Buda.


Lastly, the third switching power interruption is necessary to facilitate line upgrading works in Sto. Tomas. The loads will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes anytime between 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.. Meanwhile, the normalization will be conducted for 45 minutes anytime between 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m..


Customers along Tagum-Panabo Circumferential Road, from a portion of Tibal-og to a portion of New Katipunan in Sto. Tomas will be affected by these service disruptions.


Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.


Safety is paramount to the company, and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity areas where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
