Switching power interruptions on June 29 in Davao City and Davao del Norte

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct a series of power interruptions on Sunday, June 29, 2025, affecting customers in Davao City and Davao del Norte.


The first set of power interruptions is necessary to facilitate the substation works of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP). To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 1 hour from 1:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for another 1 hour anytime between 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m..


Specifically affected are those from Tadeco Road to the new Malitbog and Tadeco Substation, including Manay Road, Alejal Road, Biopulp Carmen, La Libertad Road, and TADECO Central. Those from Sto. Tomas Substation to Sto. Tomas proper, including Kinawayan, Katipunan, Luna, MARSMAN, and a portion of Daang Maharlika Highway in Panabo, from SeaOil near the crossing of San Isidro Street to Cabaluna and Quirino Streets, are also affected by these service disruptions.


Meanwhile, those from the entire Tibungco area, from Tibungco public market to Bunawan proper, including Eliong Road, will also be affected by the 1-hour normalization anytime between 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m..


On the other hand, the second set of power interruptions is necessary to facilitate line works from Toril Substation to Sirawan, Toril. Loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes anytime between 2:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m.. Meanwhile, the normalization will be for another 45 minutes anytime between 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.


Specifically affected are those from the entire Toril area to the Carabao statue, Eden Bayabas, Lubogan, Tagakpan, Manambulan, the entire Dumoy area to Daliao Toril, Vales Beach, and Libby Road Toril Memorial via Bago Aplaya Road, and nearby areas. Also affected are those in the entire Puan area to Mercury Ulas.


In connection, an 8-hour power interruption will be conducted for the line works from 2:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., affecting customers fronting Motormate Sayphon Toril to fronting Profoods, Lizada Toril, including GMall Toril and portions of Lim Street up to Our Lady of Fatima Chapel.


Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.


Safety is paramount to the company, and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity areas where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
