Switching power interruptions on June 18 and 19 in Davao City

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Thursday and Friday, June 18 and 19, 2026, affecting downtown Davao City. These are necessary to facilitate the removal of lines and poles for the underground cabling project along R. Magsaysay Avenue and the installation of a transformer along Suazo Street.


To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 1 hour starting at any time between 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18. Specifically affected are those from Bangoy Fire Station going to Vivaldi, Jacinto Street, UnionBank, going to J. Luna Street, including J. Dela Cruz Street; Suazo Street, Sales Street, entire R. Magsaysay Avenue, going to Magsaysay Park, and nearby areas.


To facilitate the necessary works, a 2-hour power interruption will be conducted, starting at any time between 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, and 12:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19, affecting customers from the corner of Juan Luna Street and Gempesaw Street to Sales Street and nearby areas.


Moreover, an 8-hour power interruption will be conducted to facilitate the necessary works from 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, to 6:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19. Affected customers are those in Vivaldi and Suazo Street, from DSWD up to Amesco Drug Suazo.


Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 2 hours on Friday, June 19, starting at any time between 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Customers from Bangoy Fire Station going to Vivaldi, Jacinto Street, UnionBank, going to J. Luna Street, including J. Dela Cruz Street; Suazo Street, Sales Street, entire R. Magsaysay Avenue going to Magsaysay Park and nearby areas; and from the corner of Juan Luna Street and Gempesaw Street, going to Sales Street, and nearby areas.


Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.


Safety is paramount to the company, and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity areas where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
