Switching power interruptions on February 7 and 8 in the Cities of Davao and Panabo

This advisory has been updated on February 6 with an additional switching activity on February 8 affecting customers in some parts of Panabo City. Updates are indicated in bold typeface. A separate advisory is also posted reflecting changes to the scheduled power interruption on February 8.


Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct a series of switching power interruptions on Saturday and Sunday, February 7 and 8, 2026, in various parts of Davao City and some parts of Panabo City.


This first set of switching power interruptions is necessary to facilitate electrical works for the underground cabling project along R. Magsaysay Avenue. To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes anytime between 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 45 minutes anytime between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 8.


Specifically affected are those along Quezon Boulevard from crossing Bruno Gempesaw Street to near the LTO Regional Office XI, including Colasas, areas surrounding City Hall, and nearby areas.


To facilitate the necessary works, an 8-hour power interruption will be conducted from 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, to 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 8. Customers along Bruno Gempesaw Street from Davao Light Sta. Ana Substation to crossing Quezon Boulevard will be affected by this service disruption.


The second set of switching power interruptions is necessary to facilitate substation works at the Pampanga Substation. The transfer of loads will be conducted for 45 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 8, affecting customers in the entire Pampanga area, from portions of Lanang at Azuela Cove going to DPWH Panacan, including Sasa and nearby areas.


Also affected are those along Mamay Road from Davao Light Substation to the crossing of Damosa along J.P. Laurel Avenue, from Carmelite Monastery to the crossing of Arroyo Street in R. Castillo; from Mamay Road going to Cabantian Road up to Harmony Subdivision, including Countryville, Emilia Homes, portions of Country Homes, Emily Homes, Deca Homes Cabantian, and nearby areas. Those in Lanang from portions of N. Arroyo Street to West Insular Village, including Guadalupe Village and nearby areas, will also be affected by this service disruption.


To facilitate the necessary works, an 8-hour power interruption will be conducted from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on the same day, affecting customers from Davao Light Pampanga Substation up to Hyundai Davao, including Stella Hizon Road.


Meanwhile, the normalization will be conducted for 45 minutes anytime between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on the same day, affecting the entire Pampanga area, from portions of Lanang at Azuela Cove going to DPWH Panacan, including Sasa, and nearby areas. Also affected are customers along Mamay Road from Davao Light Substation to St. Anthony Village; Lanang area from portions of N. Arroyo Street going to West Insular Village including Guadalupe Village and nearby areas.


An additional transfer of loads will be conducted for 45 minutes anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on the same day. Customers affected are those from along Daang Maharlika Highway from Panacan Cemetery to Davao Light Don Ramon Substation Bunawan, including Panacan, Tibungco, Mudiang, Ilang, and nearby areas. Also affected are those from the Bunawan overpass up to the Lasang overpass and nearby areas, and portions of Daang Maharlika Highway in Panabo from Panabo City Hall to Emcor Panabo.


Lastly, another set of switching power interruptions will be conducted on Sunday, February 8 to facilitate pole relocation activities along Bago Aplaya Road. The transfer of loads will be for 45 minutes anytime between 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. while the 45-minute normalization will be anytime between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.


Customers who will be affected by these service interruptions are those along the National Highway from Dumoy Substation to Harvey's Kambingan Eatery and from Bangkal Substation in Diversion Road to the crossing of Puan, and along Libby Road from Toril Memorial to crossing Puan.


A 6-hour power interruption will also be conducted to facilitate the necessary works on the same day. This will be from 2:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., affecting customers along Bago Aplaya Road, from the crossing of the National Highway up to the crossing of Libby Road.


Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.


Safety is paramount to the company, and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity areas where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
