Switching power interruptions on February 17 in the Cities of Davao and Panabo

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, affecting customers in the northern part of Davao Light’s franchise area. 


The first switching power interruptions are necessary to facilitate a pole replacement activity in Tibungco, Davao City.


To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 30 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 30 minutes anytime between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Specifically affected are customers in Tibungco, from Buhisan going to Davao Light Bunawan Substation, and going to Unifrutti, including Ilang, Eliong Tibungco, Purok 15, Panuntungan Street, and nearby areas.


To facilitate the necessary works, an 8-hour power interruption will be conducted from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., affecting customers from King Coop Tibungco going to La Filipina Uy Corporation, including Eliong Tibungco.


The second switching power interruption is necessary to conduct pole installation and pin insulator replacement activities at Manay, Panabo City. This will be an 8-hour power interruption from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. affecting customers from the entire Manay Panabo, including New Malaga, Tibulao, Tibungol, Pandaitan, Mabuhay, Paradise Embak, Paquibato areas up to Mapula.


Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.


Safety is paramount to the company, and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity areas where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
