Switching power interruptions on August 1, 2, and 3 in Davao City and Davao del Norte

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, August 1, 2, and 3, 2026, affecting various parts of Davao City and Davao del Norte. 


The first set of switching power interruptions is necessary to facilitate line and substation works in Panabo City. To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes at any time between 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, and 12:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 2. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 45 minutes at any time between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 2.


Specifically affected are customers from Bunawan Shell to J. P. Laurel, Panabo to Gredu Poblacion area; portions of Brgy. Gredu, Brgy. San Francisco (Poblacion) and nearby areas; portions of Gredu going to Tadeco Road up to Motorzone and nearby areas; and portions of Carmen area from Flying V Carmen going to Tuganay, and nearby areas.


To facilitate the necessary works, an 8-hour power outage will be conducted from 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, to 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 2. Customers in the Panabo Wharf area, from Petron Gas Station to AIE, Stanfilco Wharf, Panabo Coast Guard up to Ornels Sea Foods, and nearby areas, will be affected by this service disruption.


The second set of switching power interruptions is necessary to facilitate substation works in Bangkal Substation. The loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes at any time between 1:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 2. Meanwhile, the normalization will be conducted for 45 minutes at any time between 1:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on Monday, August 3.


Specifically affected are customers from the entire Bangkal up to Matina Crossing, including Central Park, Matina Balusong; Catalunan Grande up to Santiago Villas, including Skyline, Monte Maria, and nearby areas; from Bangkal Substation Diversion Road to Ulas Police Station; Brgy. Talomo areas along Jay Ortiz Road and its nearby environment, including Coca Cola Bottlers Philippines, and portions along Ulas Bypass Road; from Bangkal Diversion Road to Davao-Cotabato Road corner Talomo Road to Libby Road up to South Pacific Estates, including DCWD Talomo Sump and Treatment Plant; also covering portions of Central Park Bangkal, Taal Road up to Cordillera Street Relief Bridge.


Also affected are those along Maa Road from Sea Oil Las Terrazas to the corner of Yniguez Subdivision; St. Michael Village from Eden Street to portion of San Rafael Village at Pest Science Corp., and nearby areas; portions of Quirino Avenue going to Gov. Duterte Street, Ilustre Street, portions of Pelayo Street, MacArthur Highway up to the crossing of Tulip Drive, including Sandawa, New Matina, portion of Ecoland, portion of the crossing of Maa Road, and portion of Tulip Drive up to the Davao Light Substation, and nearby areas.


Customers along Quimpo Boulevard from ET KTV going to Bolton Bridge up to the LTO Regional Office, including Felcis Centrale and nearby areas; from Purok 3, Lower Rapnaga, Bago Bridge, Talomo to Davao-Digos Road and Davao-Bukidnon Road (Bago Bridge area) via Davao-Digos Road; and from Km. 14 MacArthur Highway, Toril to Km. 11 MacArthur Highway, Talomo (Dumoy Water Station) via MacArthur Highway (Toril); and from Matina Aplaya area to the corner of Walnut Street and Tulip Drive, including SM City Expansion, National University, and nearby areas, will also experience these service disruptions.


Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.


Safety is paramount to the company, and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity areas where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
