Switching power interruptions on April 26 and 27 in different parts of Davao City

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Saturday and Sunday, April 26 and 27, 2025, affecting customers in different parts of Davao City.
The first set of switching power interruptions is necessary to facilitate the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines’ (NGCP) substation works.
To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 26. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for another 45 minutes anytime between 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the same day.
Specifically affected are customers from Buhangin Substation to crossing Diversion Road, going Cabantian Road to Buhangin Memorial up to crossing Milan, from Buhangin Diversion Road going to Juanas Kubo North including Camp Catitipan and F. Bangoy International Airport, entire Cabantian area and portions of Indangan area, Buhangin Diversion Road to Mamay Road, Diversion Road traffic light to Airport Road (Airport View).
Also affected are those in portions of Panacan from Unifrutti to entire Tibungco areas up to Daniel Perez Central Elementary School, Bunawan.
The second set of switching power interruptions is necessary to facilitate 69kV concrete pole removal and line works along Matina Crossing.
The transfer of loads will be conducted for 1 hour anytime between 10:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 26. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for another 1 hour anytime between 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 27.
Specifically affected are those from Matina areas from McArthur Highway Davao Memorial Park to Matina Crossing, Matina Aplaya areas to Ecoland Coastal Road Entrance, Matina Pangi areas to Diversion Road Bean Xpress and neighboring areas.
Also affected are those in the entire Ecoland area to McArthur Highway, MTS, Ateneo Grade School, Ecoland IT Park to Davao Memorial Park, Quimpo Boulevard from Bolton Bridge to South Grove, entire Tulip Drive up to Walnut Street.
Customers in the entire Maa area, Diversion Road to Jade Valley, Juliville to Tigatto, Mandug, Callawa, Indangan, and all neighboring areas, Diversion Road to Bean Xpress Matina Pangi Diversion and neighboring areas, will also experience these service disruptions.
Additionally customers from corner Gempesaw Street and Ramon Magsaysay Avenue to Leon Garcia Street, from Soliman Street, Agdao to portions of F. Bangoy Street up to N. Torres Street, Obrero, Sta. Ana Avenue to Lizada Street, Quezon Boulevard to Bolton Bridge, including Bucana, City Hall and SP Building, portions of Pichon Street, Bolton Extension, and neighboring areas, will also experience the 1-hour normalization activity anytime between 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 27.
In connection, the loads from the affected lines will be isolated for 9 hours from 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 26 to 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 27 affecting customers from Davao Light Matina Substation along Pangi Road going to Aplaya Road up to MGR Building and Church of Latter Day Saints Matina Aplaya including Travelers Inn Building and Mercury Drug Matina Crossing.
Also affected are those from Matina Substation along Pangi Road going to Diversion Road up to Pangi Bridge near Philkor Heavy Equipment and the entire Matina Pangi area.
Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.
Safety is of paramount importance to the company and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity area/s where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
