Switching power interruptions on April 2 and 6 in Davao City

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Thursday and Monday, April 2 and 6, 2026, in various parts of Davao City. These are necessary to facilitate substation works at P. Reyes Substation.


To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 30 minutes anytime between 12:01 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 2. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 30 minutes anytime between 12:01 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on Monday, April 6.


Specifically affected are customers along J. P. Laurel Avenue from Shell Bajada opposite of the Bajada Power Plant to Arroyo Street, Lanang, including Go Hotel and nearby areas; Brgy. Lapu-Lapu, Brgy. Centro Extension Agdao, Davao Fire Fighters, Alumina Industries, Agdao Flyover, Gotamco Agdao; and from corner Gempesaw Street, and Ramon Magsaysay Avenue to Leon Garcia Street, and neighboring areas.


Also affected are those in Buhangin from Camella Northpoint up to Orange Grove Hotel; from E. Jacinto Extension going to F. Torres Street up to Loyola Street, and portions of Obrero; from NBI Region XI Office Bajada going to Bacaca area up to Diversion Road entrance to Jade Valley and Earth Grain Diversion Road underpass, including Garcia Heights, El Rio Vista Village, Rolling Hills Subdivision, Robinsons Highlands, and nearby areas.


Customers in parts of Mabini Street to portions of F. Torres Street from DCNHS, including J. Camus Extension up to portions of Marfori up to Maa Bypass Road and Riverview Road; from Davao Light Ponciano Office to C. Bangoy Sr. Street up to Bonifacio Street and portions of C.M. Recto Street from San Pedro Cathedral going to RCBC Claveria, including Palma Gil Street; A. Pichon Street from Bonifacio Monument near Colasas Barbeque to Wisons Shopping Center, including Bolton Extension, S. P. Building, City Hall, and nearby areas, will be affected by these service disruptions.


Also affected are those from Quirino Avenue corner Mabini Street up to Guzman Street, including portions of Sta. Ana Avenue from Davao Chong Hua High School to Holy Cross College; Gaisano Mall; portions of J. P. Laurel Avenue from Gaisano Mall to portions of Quirino Avenue up to Penongs Mabini and portions of Sta. Ana Avenue; and from C. Bangoy Sr. Street to San Pedro Street, Rizal Street, and portions of Pelayo Street; and in portions of Quirino Avenue going to Gov. Duterte Street, Ilustre Street, portions of Pelayo Street, MacArthur Highway up to ADDU Grade School.


Lastly, customers from Qurino Avenue going to Bankerohan areas, including Fr. Selga Street, San Pedro Extension, Camus Extension, and portions of A. Pichon Street from Quirino Avenue to WS Shopping Center; portions of Sandawa, and in New Matina up to MacArthur Highway to portions in Tulip Drive, including Juna Avenue and nearby areas, will also experience these power interruptions.


Meanwhile, customers from New Matina up to Matina Town Square and nearby areas will also experience the 30-minute normalization schedule, anytime between 12:01 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on Monday, April 6.


Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.


Safety is paramount to the company, and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity areas where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
