Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct a series of power interruptions on Friday, Saturday, and Monday, July 17, 18, and 20, 2026, affecting some parts of Davao City and the Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS).

The first power interruption is necessary to conduct line maintenance in IGACOS. This will be an 8-hour power interruption from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, affecting customers from Central Convenience Store Anonang to Poblacion Kaputian, including San Isidro Kaputian, Libertad, San Remigio, Panggubatan, Sion, Kanaan, portions of Bandera, and nearby areas.

Meanwhile, a second power interruption is necessary to facilitate substation maintenance at the Talicud Diesel Power Plant as requested by the Talicud NPC SPUG. This will be a 9-hour power interruption from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, affecting customers in Talicud Island.

Lastly, switching power interruptions are necessary to conduct substation maintenance at the Toril Substation in Davao City. To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 30 minutes at any time between 1:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 30 minutes at any time between 1:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. on Monday, July 20.

Specifically affected are customers along Davao-Bukidnon Highway from the crossing of Ulas to Mintal Proper, including Catalunan Pequeno areas; along Maharlika Highway from Davao Light Bangkal Substation up to Binugao Barangay Hall, including portions of Bangkal, Puan, Dumoy and Binugao; and the entire Ulas, Libby Road, Bago Aplaya, Bago Galera, Daliao, Toril, Sirawan, Catigan, Lubogan, Tagakpan, Manambulan, and nearby areas.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.

Safety is paramount to the company, and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity areas where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
