Emergency switching power interruptions on May 25 in Downtown Davao City

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct emergency switching power interruptions on Sunday, May 25, 2025, affecting customers in downtown Davao City.
The first set of switching power interruptions is necessary to conduct emergency works at Victoria Substation. To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 1 hour, starting anytime between 12:01 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for another 1 hour, starting anytime between 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m..
Specifically affected are those from portions of JP. Laurel Avenue, from El Bajada Hotel to Abreeza carpark, including Medical School Drive, NCCC VP Mall, portions of Brgy. Obrero and portions of Sta. Ana Avenue.
The second set of switching power interruptions is necessary to facilitate transformer repair along the UnionBank of the Philippines in Jacinto. The transfer of loads will be for 30 minutes anytime between 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.. Meanwhile, the return of loads to their normal set-up will be for another 30 minutes anytime between 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m..
Customers from Bangoy Fire Station to some parts of R. Magsaysay Avenue, from corner C. Bangoy Sr. Street to corner Sales Street, Jacinto Street from corner R. Magsaysay to corner Luna Street, and Luna Street from corner Jacinto Street to corner Suazo Street, and nearby areas, will be affected by these power interruptions.
In connection, a 10-hour power interruption will be conducted from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. affecting customers along R. Magsaysay Avenue from the UnionBank of the Philippines to Davao Famous Restaurant up to the corner of J. dela Cruz Street.
Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these emergency switching power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.
