Emergency switching power interruptions on May 18 in the northern part of Davao City

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct emergency switching power interruptions on Sunday, May 18, 2025, affecting customers in the northern part of Davao City. These are necessary to facilitate the isolation of a feeder line from the Pampanga Substation as requested by the Department of Public Works and Highways.


To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 30 minutes anytime between 1:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.. Specifically affected are those from Pampanga Substation going to Lanang, Lots for Less Pampanga, Waterfront Insular Hotel, Lizada Village, Azuela Cove, and crossing R. Castillo, and from Azuela Cove going to the corner of Arroyo Street, R. Castillo.


An eight-hour power outage will also be conducted from 1:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., affecting customers from Daruma Industries building, Lanang to the corner of Alcantara Road, including Beefit Gym, Church of God, and Premier Heavy Equipment.


Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for another 30 minutes anytime between 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.. Specifically affected are customers from Azuela Cove to corner Arroyo Street, R. Castillo.


Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these emergency switching power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.


Safety is of paramount importance to the company and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity area/s where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
