Switching power interruptions on September 26 and 28 in Davao City

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct a series of switching power interruptions on Saturday and Monday, September 26 and 28, 2026, affecting different parts of Davao City.

The first set of switching power interruptions is necessary to facilitate substation work in Ponciano Substation. To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 30 minutes at any time between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 30 minutes at any time between 12:01 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on Monday, September 28.

Specifically affected are customers from Tulip Drive to Quimpo Boulevard (ET KTV) up to LTO Boulevard Office, including portions of Eco West Drive; from Bioessence to Circumferential Road Bacaca, DMSF, Abreeza, and nearby areas; from Bangoy Fire Station to Vivaldi, Jacinto Street UnionBank going to J. Luna Street, including J. Dela Cruz Street; and R. Magsaysay Street going to DCLA and nearby areas; Guerrero Street from San Pedro College to Petron corner Guerrero and R. Magsaysay Street.

Also affected are those from Davao Light Ponciano Office to C. Bangoy Street up to Bonifacio Street and portions of C. M. Recto Street from San Pedro Cathedral to RCBC Claveria, including Palma Gil Street; and A. Pichon Street from Bonifacio Monument near Colasas Barbeque to Wisons Shopping Center, including Bolton Extension, SP Building, City Hall, and nearby areas.

Customers from Quirino Avenue to Bankerohan, including Fr. Selga Street, San Pedro Extension, Camus Extension, and portions of A. Pichon Street from Quirino Avenue to WS Shopping Center; from NBI Region XI Office Bajada to Bacaca up to Diversion Road entrance to Jade Valley and Earth Grain Diversion Road Underpass, including Garcia Heights, El Rio Vista Village, Rolling Hills Subdivision, Robinsons Highlands, and nearby areas will also experience these power interruptions.

Also affected are customers in portions of J. P. Laurel Avenue from GMall to portions of Quirino Avenue up to Penongs Mabini and portions of Sta. Ana Avenue; and from C. Bangoy Street to San Pedro Street, Rizal Street and portions of Pelayo Street; and portions of Quirino Avenue to Gov. Duterte Street, Ilustre Street, portions of Pelayo Street, MacArthur Highway up to ADDU Grade School

Meanwhile, customers from Km. 5 Guadalupe Village, Matina Pangi Road to MacArthur Highway, Matina up to Alexian Brothers, including Shrine Hills up to ABS-CBN Transmitter and nearby areas; and those in portions of Sandawa, New Matina areas up to MacArthur Highway to portions in Tulip Drive, including Juna Avenue and nearby areas; P. Tavera Street, and nearby areas, will also experience the 30-minute transfer of loads on Saturday, September 26, at any time between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Further, customers from Davao Light Substation along Km. 5 Guadalupe Village Matina Pangi Road to MacArthur Highway Matina up to Matina Baptist Church, including NCCC Centerpoint and nearby areas; and from the crossing of MacArthur Highway and Quimpo Boulevard to South Grove and nearby areas, and from Matina Shrine Road up to ABS-CBN Transmitter site and nearby areas, will also experience the 30-minute normalization on Monday, September 28, at any time between 12:01 a.m. and 3:00 a.m.

The second switching power interruption is necessary to implement vegetation clearing along Mulig to Tagakpan-Manambulan Road on Saturday, September 26. This will be 8 hours, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., affecting customers from Purok 1 Lubogan, Toril to Tagakpan-Manambulan Road, Mulig, and nearby areas.

Lastly, Davao Light will also conduct switching power interruptions to facilitate line work along MacArthur Highway on Monday, September 28. This will be for 5 hours from 2:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., affecting customers from Matina Baptist Church along the corner of MacArthur Highway and Quimpo Boulevard to Alexian Brothers, and nearby areas.

Meanwhile, the normalization will take 45 minutes at any time between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., affecting customers from Davao Light Substation along Km 5 Guadalupe Village Matina Pangi Road going to MacArthur Highway Matina up to Matina Baptist Church, including NCCC Centerpoint and nearby areas; from crossing MacArthur Highway and Quimpo Boulevard to South Grove and nearby areas; and from Matina Shrine Road up to ABS-CBN Transmitter site and nearby areas.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.
