Switching power interruptions on October 4 in Davao City

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct a series of switching power interruptions on Sunday, October 4, 2026, affecting different parts of Davao City.


The first set of switching power interruptions is necessary to facilitate substation work in Ecoland Substation. To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes at any time between 1:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 45 minutes at any time between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.


Specifically affected are customers from the entire Maa; Diversion Road to Jade Valley, Juliville to Tigatto, Mandug, Callawa and all neighboring areas; Diversion Road going to Bean Xpress Matina Pangi Diversion and neighboring areas; Maa Road from Sea Oil Las Terrazas to the corner of Yniguez Subdivision; St. Michael Village from Eden Street going to portion of San Rafael Village at Pest Science Corp. and nearby areas.


Also affected are customers from ET KTV Quimpo Boulevard up to LTO Boulevard Office, including portions of Eco West Drive; from Davao-Cotabato Road to the corner of Acacia to Bolton Bridge, including First Avenue, Mangga Street, and Champaca Street; also passing through Quimpo Boulevard; entire Ecoland area to MacArthur Highway, MTS, Ateneo Grade School, Ecoland IT Park up to Davao Memorial Park, and nearby areas; from Tulip Drive to Walnut Drive (SM Ecoland area) via Tulip Drive;  and Matina Aplaya area to the corner of Walnut Street and Tulip Drive, including portions in Eco West Drive and National University, and nearby areas.


Meanwhile, customers from Quirino Avenue to Bankerohan area, including Fr. Selga Street, San Pedro Extension, Camus Extension, and portions of A. Pichon Street from Quirino Avenue to WS Shopping Center; and from Davao Light Substation along Km 5 Guadalupe Village Matina Pangi Road to MacArthur Highway Matina up to Alexian Brothers and up to Shrine Hills ABS CBN Transmitter and nearby areas, will experience only the 45-minute transfer of loads at any time between 1:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m.


To facilitate the necessary work, an 8-hour power interruption will also be implemented from 1:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 4, affecting customers from Davao Light Ecoland Substation along Tulip Drive to Cake Galerie, 1st Avenue Juna Subdivision; from Davao Light Ecoland Substation along Tulip Drive to Quimpo Boulevard up to ET KTV and nearby areas; and from Sea Oil, Ecoland Drive to Walnut Street corner Tulip Drive and up to Civil Service Commission Field Office, including portions in Coastal Road Times Beach and nearby areas.


Lastly, Davao Light will conduct an 8-hour power interruption on the same day to facilitate line upgrading in Catigan. This will be from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., affecting customers in the entire Catigan area, from Task Force Checkpoint corner Sirawan and Catigan Road and nearby areas.


Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.


Safety is paramount to the company, and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity areas where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
