Switching power interruptions on October 24, 25, and 26 in Davao City

This advisory has been updated on October 23, reflecting changes to the second set of switching power interruptions. A separate advisory is posted reflecting changes to the scheduled power interruption.

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, October 24, 25, and 26 in different parts of Davao City.

The first set of switching power interruptions is necessary to conduct line works at Bangkal Substation. To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes anytime between 10:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Friday, October 24. Specifically affected are those along the National Highway from Jollibee Puan to crossing Talomo-Puan Bypass Road and nearby areas, and those along Davao-Bukidnon Highway from crossing Ulas to Bambu Estate.

In connection, an 8-hour power interruption will be conducted to facilitate the necessary works. This will be from 10:00 p.m. on Friday, October 24, to 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, affecting customers along Talomo-Puan Bypass Road from crossing Diversion to crossing Catalunan Pequeno and nearby areas.

Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 45 minutes anytime between 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 25. Specifically affected are those along the National Highway, from Jollibee Puan to crossing Talomo-Puan Bypass Road and nearby areas, along Talomo-Puan Bypass Road from crossing Diversion to crossing Catalunan Pequeno and nearby areas, and along Davao-Bukidnon Highway from crossing Ulas to Bambu Estate.

The second set of switching power interruptions will be conducted to facilitate pole relocation activities for the Samal Bridge Project and conduct line works at the Pampanga Substation. The loads will be transferred to a nearby substation for 1 hour, which will start anytime between 10:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25. Meanwhile, the return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 1 hour, which will start anytime between 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 26. 

Specifically affected are those from a portion of J.P. Laurel Avenue from crossing Mamay to Carmelite Monastery and from crossing Arroyo Street to Azuela, including the entire Mamay Road, a portion of Fortune Homes, and Stella Hizon Road, and along Daang Maharlika from Azuela to crossing Panacan.

In connection, a 12-hour power interruption will be conducted to facilitate the necessary works. This will be from 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, to 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 26, affecting customers along Daang Maharlika from Caltex in crossing Azuela to fronting Security Bank Lanang, including West Insular Village, and along Daang Maharlika from Puregold to Mercury Drug in Pampanga, including Stella Hizon Road.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.
