Switching power interruptions on October 16 and 17 in Downtown, Davao City

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Friday and Saturday, October 16 and 17, 2026, affecting downtown Davao City. These are necessary to facilitate line work along J. P. Laurel Avenue. 

To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 30 minutes at any time between 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on Friday, October 16. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 30 minutes at any time between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 17.

Specifically affected are customers in portions of J. P. Laurel Avenue in Lanang, crossing Arroyo Street up to Shell opposite Davao Light Bajada Substation, and nearby areas.

To facilitate the necessary work, an 8-hour power interruption will be implemented from 10:00 p.m. on Friday, October 16 to 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, affecting customers from MK Central Bldg. going to Acacia Hotel, including Carmelite Road, Hillside Subdivision, Pioneer Drive, Banawe Street, Tebow Cure Hospital, and nearby areas.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.
