CANCELLED: Switching power interruptions on October 13 and 14 in downtown Davao City

October 11, 2025 Update: This scheduled power interruption has been cancelled to give way to the necessary power restoration works after the recent earthquake.
Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Monday and Tuesday, October 13 and 14, in downtown Davao City. These are necessary to facilitate substation upgrading works at PReyes Substation.
To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes anytime between 1:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. on Monday, October 13. Specifically affected are those from Davao Light Ponciano Office to C. Bangoy Sr. Street up to Bonifacio Street, and portions of C.M. Recto Street, from San Pedro Cathedral going to RCBC Claveria, including Palma Gil Street.
Also affected are those from A. Pichon Street, from Bonifacio Monument near Colasas Barbeque, going to Wisons Shopping Center, including Bolton Extension, SP Building, City Hall, and nearby areas; from Qurino Avenue going to Bankerohan areas, including Fr. Selga Street, San Pedro Extension, and portions of A. Pichon Street from Quirino Avenue to WS Shopping Center; portions of Sandawa, New Matina areas up to MTS; from Tulip Drive going to McArthur Highway up to MTS; from C. Bangoy Street to San Pedro Street, Rizal Street, and portions along Pelayo Street.
In connection, a 1-hour power interruption will be conducted to facilitate the necessary works anytime between 1:30 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. on Monday, October 13, affecting customers in some parts of Mabini Street to portions of F. Torres Street from DCNHS, including J. Camus Extension up to portions of Marfori to Maa Bypass Road and Riverview Road.
Customers from portions of J.P. Laurel Avenue from GMall to portions of Quirino Avenue up to Penongs Mabini and portions of Sta Ana Avenue; portions of Quirino Avenue going to Gov. Duterte Street, Ilustre Street, portions of Pelayo Street, McArthur Highway up to ADDU Grade School, will also be affected by this service disruption.
Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 45 minutes anytime between 1:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14. Specifically affected are those from Qurino Avenue to Bankerohan areas, including Fr. Selga Street, San Pedro Extension, and portions of A. Pichon Street from Quirino Avenue to WS Shopping Center; portions of Sandawa, New Matina areas up to MTS.
Also affected are those from C. Bangoy Sr. Street to San Pedro Street, Rizal Street, and portions along Pelayo Street; portions of J.P. Laurel Avenue from GMall to portions of Quirino Avenue up to Penongs Mabini, and portions of Sta Ana Avenue.
Customers from portions of Quirino Avenue going to Gov. Duterte Street, Ilustre Street, portions of Pelayo St, McArthur Highway up to ADDU Grade School; from Davao Light Ponciano Office to C. Bangoy Sr. Street up to Bonifacio Street, and portions of C.M. Recto Street, from San Pedro Cathedral to RCBC Claveria, including Palma Gil Street; A. Pichon Street from Bonifacio Monument near Colasas Barbeque going to Wisons Shopping Center, including Bolton Extension, SP Building, City Hall, and nearby areas, will also be affected by this service interruption.
Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.
