Switching power interruptions on October 10, 11, and 13 in Davao City and IGACOS
Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday, October 10, 11, and 13, 2026, affecting customers in Davao City and the Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS).
The first set of switching power interruptions is necessary to facilitate substation work in Calinan Substation, Davao City. To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 30 minutes at any time between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 30 minutes at any time between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 11.
Specifically affected are customers from Skyline Subdivision to Deca Homes Tacunan, and nearby areas.
The second set of switching power interruptions is necessary to implement substation work in Caliclic Substation, IGACOS. The transfer of loads will take 30 minutes at any time between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13. Meanwhile, the normalization will be 30 minutes at any time between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on the same day.
Customers from Phoenix Gas Station at Mae Wess Port to Circumferential Road to Brgy. Villarica, Moncado, Miranda in Babak up to Tambo, Camudmud, Cogon, Balet, and nearby areas, will be affected by these switching power interruptions.
Also affected are those from Kinawitnon Rotunda to Mambago B, Mambago A, San Miguel via Kinawitnon Road up to Phil-Power Ventures (formerly MGC) and going to Catagman, Amaranta Beach, portions in Limao, and nearby areas.
To facilitate the necessary work, a 9-hour power interruption will also be implemented from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the same day, affecting customers from Caliclic Coast Guard Sub-station to Circumferential Road up to Phoenix Gas Station, including Bridgeport by Damosa Land, Club Samal, Mae Wess Port, Camp Holiday, and nearby areas; from Davao Light Caliclic Substation to Discovery Samal, and portions of Limao.
Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.
