Switching power interruptions on May 16, 17, and 18 in the Cities of Davao and Panabo

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, May 16, 17, and 18, 2026, affecting the northern part of Davao City and Panabo City. These are necessary to facilitate line and substation works in the area.


To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 30 minutes any time between 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, and 12:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 17. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 30 minutes any time between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 17.


Specifically affected are those from the Gredu poblacion area, from Cabaluna Street to J. P. Laurel, Panabo, passing J. P. Laurel Elementary School via Daang Maharlika Highway and nearby areas; from DepEd Bunawan District Office going to Cagangohan, including Lasang area and J. P. Laurel Panabo, and nearby areas.


To facilitate the necessary works, a 4-hour power interruption will be conducted from 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, to 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 17, affecting customers from Cabaluna Street to Quirino Extension, from Cabaluna Street to Daang Maharlika Highway, Carmen area up to Tuganay Bridge via Daang Maharlika Highway, and portions of Gredu going to Tadeco Road up to Nanyo Central Elementary School and nearby areas.


An 8-hour power interruption will also be conducted any time between 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, and 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 17, affecting customers from Cabaluna Street to Panabo Park and nearby areas, and from Emcor Panabo going to Bunawan overpass.


Additionally, a normalization activity will be conducted for 30 minutes any time between 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 17, affecting customers from the San Vicente Substation going to Tadeco Road up to Gas Island.


Lastly, a 30-minute normalization will be facilitated any time between 12:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. on Monday, May 18, affecting customers from Cabaluna Street to Quirino Extension, from Cabaluna Street to Daang Maharlika Highway, Carmen area up to Tuganay Bridge via Daang Maharlika Highway, and portions of Gredu going to Tadeco Road up to Nanyo Central Elementary School up to Davao Light San Vicente Substation, Panabo wharf road, and nearby areas.


Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.
