Switching power interruptions on June 21 in Davao City

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Sunday, June 21, 2026, affecting different parts of Davao City. These are necessary to facilitate the shutdown of Davao Line 2 as requested by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, and the substation works at Ecoland Substation.


To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 30 minutes starting at any time between 12:01 a.m. and 12:30 a.m. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 30 minutes starting at any time between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.


Specifically affected are those along MacArthur Highway from Bambu Estate Mintal to Los Amigos, including Catalunan Grande, Bago Oshiro, Mintal, Tugbok Proper, Angalan, Tacunan, Manambulan, Manuel Guianga, and nearby areas. Also affected are those along MacArthur Highway, from Riverside Calinan to Buda, including Calinan Proper, Biao Joaquin, Wangan, Subasta, Sirib, Gumalang, Tamugan, Suawan, Marilog Proper, and nearby areas.


Also affected are those in the entire Maa area; Diversion Road to Jade Valley, Juliville to Tigatto, Mandug, Callawa and all neighboring areas; Diversion Road going to Bean Xpress Matina Pangi Diversion and neighboring areas; Maa Road from Sea Oil Las Terrazas going to corner Yniguez Subdivision; and St. Michael Village from Eden Street going to portion of San Rafael Village at Pest Science Corp. and nearby areas.


Meanwhile, customers from Sta. Ana Avenue going to Bruno Gempesaw Street and Monteverde up to Villa Abrille Street; portions of Lizada Street, F. Bangoy Street up to Leon Garcia Street fronting AISAT, the entire Boulevard area up to Bolton Bridge crossing N. Torres Street in Agdao along Bangoy Street, including Colasas, areas surrounding City Hall, and nearby areas, will only be affected by the 30-minute switching power interruption starting at any time between 12:01 a.m. and 12:30 a.m. This also includes customers in the entire Dumoy area going to Daliao Toril, including Vales Beach; going to Libby Road, Toril Memorial via Bago Aplaya Road, and nearby areas; and the entire Puan area going to Bambu Estate, Catalunan Pequeno, and nearby areas.


Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.


Safety is paramount to the company, and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity areas where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
