Switching power interruptions on January 21 in the northern part of Davao City

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, affecting customers in the northern part of Davao City. These are necessary to facilitate line upgrading works along Mahayag-Bunawan.

To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 30 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for another 30 minutes anytime between 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Specifically affected are those from the Davao Light Don Ramon Substation along Maharlika Highway and corner Brgy. Bunawan Market Road going to Rusi Bunawan including Holy Cross Bunawan and St. James Parish.

In connection, an 8-hour power interruption will be conducted from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. affecting customers from Palawan Pawnshop and Central Convenience along Bunawan-Maharlika Highway going to Mahayag proper, including Tagorot Licanan, Bosque, Brgy. San Isidro Bunawan and Piatos Bunawan.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.

Safety is of paramount importance to the company and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity area/s where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
