Switching power interruptions on August 14 and 15 in Davao del Norte

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Friday and Saturday, August 14 and 15, 2026, affecting the Municipality of Carmen and the Island Garden City of Samal, Davao del Norte. 

The first set of switching power interruptions is necessary to facilitate massive clearing of vegetation from Phoenix Caliclic to Babak on Friday, August 14. To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 30 minutes at any time between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 30 minutes at any time between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Specifically affected are those from Kinawitnon Rotunda to Mambago B, Mambago A, San Miguel via Kinawitnon Road up to Phil-Power Ventures (formerly MGC), and going to Catagman, Amaranta Beach, portions in Limao, and nearby areas.

To facilitate the necessary works, an 8-hour power interruption will be implemented on the same day from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., affecting customers from Phoenix Gas Station at Mae Wess Port to Circumferential Road to Brgy. Villarica, Moncado, Miranda in Babak up to Tambo, Camudmud, Cogon, Balet, and nearby areas.

The second set of switching power interruptions is necessary to facilitate pole relocation along Carmen Poblacion on Saturday, August 15, as requested by the DPWH. To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 30 minutes at any time between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal setup will be conducted for 30 minutes at any time between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Customers along Daang Maharlika Highway from Sto. Nino Elementary School up to Alma's Food Hub, and nearby areas, will be affected by these service disruptions.

An 8-hour power outage will also be implemented to facilitate the necessary works. This will be from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the same day, affecting customers from Puroks 6, 7, 8, and 9 in Brgy. Ising, including LGU-Carmen, PNP Carmen, District Hospital, gym, public market; Purok 1, 4, 5, 6, Marang, Datu Sumoco, Mangga, and Marapatan in Brgy. Taba in the Municipality of Carmen.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.
