8-hour power interruption on May 2 in IGACOS

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct an eight-hour power interruption on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., affecting some parts of the Island Garden City of Samal. This is necessary to facilitate the 13.8kV line reconfiguration works at Babak, Samal.
Specifically affected are those from Flying V Gas Station along Babak Samal going to Poblacion Babak, Miranda, including Port of Babak, Tambo, Camudmud, San Isidro Babak, Cogon, Libuak, Balet, and from Moncado, Babak-Kaputian Road going to Phil-Power Ventures (formerly Mindoro Grid), including portions of Mambago A, Toril, Santo Niño, San Antonio, and nearby areas.
Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by this scheduled power interruption. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.
Safety is paramount to the company, and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity areas where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
