Davao Light is the third largest privately-owned electric distribution utility in the country in terms of customer size and annual kWh sales.
Davao Light’s franchise area covers Davao City, areas of Panabo City, and the municipalities of Carmen, Braulio E. Dujali, and Santo Tomas in Davao del Norte, with a population of approximately 2.2 million and a total area of 3,561 square kilometers.
As of December 2022, Davao Light served a total of 470,868 customers, with a recorded peak demand of 472 MW.
The growth in demand resulted in total sales of 2,699,306 MWh as of December 2022. Davao Light recorded a total growth in energy sales of 3.92% and an increase in demand of 2.91% for 2022.
Davao Light’s distribution systems loss at 5.05% remains below the government-mandated cap of 5.50%. Systems loss below the mandated caps translates to reduced power costs, resulting in customer savings.
