Davao Light reconstructs its Victoria Substation, improves power reliability

Located at the heart of the city, the Victoria Substation of Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. has been upgraded to increase capacity and enhance reliability.

The recently upgraded Victoria Substation has resumed its operations last January 9, 2019. This will further improve the power reliability and flexibility in the downtown area of Davao Light’s franchise.

Furthermore, sensitive device is housed in a separate control room. This set up will reduce the incidence of outages due to device misoperation.

Project Engineer Engr. Mark Anthony Catalan said that the intermediate design is in preparation for the foundation and, control and communication for the implementation of the ultimate design in 2019.

The ultimate design includes additional breakers for the main and the new Victoria 4 feeder and bus upgrade. In addition, it has also instituted a more eco-friendly system using IEC61850 GOOSE.
