Davao Light recognizes electricians during its Elektrisyan ng Bayan Awards 2018

Davao Light and Power Company in partnership with the Aboitiz Foundation has once again hosted the annual Elektrisyan ng Bayan Award to recognize electricians who have exceptional commitment to their field of work last December 18, 2018 at the Grand Menseng Hotel in Davao City.

 

Electricians who performed well in 2018 were chosen and recognized in the event. This is also a venueto strengthen camaraderie with Davao Light’s partners in the fieldthe electricians and with the different electrician associations.

For the 2018’s award, the 2018 Best Electrician award was given to Ramonito P. Mijares of Panabo Skilled Electricians Association (PUSEA.

 

Mark A. Valencia, Davao Light’s Vice-President for Engineering, said that electricians play a major role in providing essential services, thus, deserve to be recognized.

 

“Davao Light's Elektrisyan ng Bayan award is a way to express our appreciation and gratitude towards the electricians for showing high quality performance to the customers and for being a trusted partner of the company. This will also encourage other electricians to provide the level of service required of them." Valencia added.

 

A total of 332 active accredited electricians vied for this year’s award. Mijares stood out for being able to have all new electricity connection applications approved with no non-compliance recorded in 2018.

 

Furthermore, four more electricians also received an award for their exemplary performance. These were Dickie L. Anas of United Electricians of Metro Davao (UEMD), Wennie T. Santander of Davao Private Electricians Association (DAPREA), Raul C. Cajegas of DAPREA, and Marlon B. Ortiz, who is also from PUSEA.

 

The other awardees who also received a consolation prize were Jemmy L. Maniquiz, Henry A. Esmores, and Alex F. Montilla, who are all from UEMD, Jose A. Valdez Jr. of Integrated Electricians Association of Davao (IEAD), and Normito U. Tuquib of Davao Electrical Practitioners Association (DEPA).


The awardees received 
cash rewards, and a new set of electrical tools.

Meanwhile, electricians from DAPREA, UEMD, and IEADA were also recognized and received Certificate of Appreciation for the assistance they have given during the Gawad Kalinga House Wiring and the Typhoon Vinta aftermath.


Davao Light executives and team leaders as well as all 
the different electrician associations were present to grace the event.

Davao Light will continue to empower its partner electricians to enhance their skills and provide the best quality service to the customers.
