Holy Cross of Davao College wins 1st place in this year’s Davao Light Short Video-Making Contest

The video entry entitled Assignment from the Holy Cross of Davao College won 1st place in this year’s short video-making contest of Davao Light and Power Co., Inc., a subsidiary of the AboitizPower. This year’s theme is Alamin ang Dapat Gawin, Kaligtasan ay Siguraduhin: Overhead Powerline Safety, which is aimed at amplifying the public’s awareness on overhead powerline safety.

 

33 entries from various universities and colleges within the Davao Light franchise vied for this year’s contest.  

 

The awarding ceremony was held at the Davao Light Admin Office in C. Bangoy Sr. Street, Davao City last December 15. Awards were given to the top 3 videos and consolation prizes to the top 7 videos. Special awards were also given to the Best Actress, Actor, and Poster. 

 

Taking the 2nd and 3rd spots in this year’s contest are the University of Mindanao for their video entitled Dong and Kapitan Flush from the University of Immaculate Conception - Senior High School, respectively. The top 3 winners won PhP15,000, PhP25,000 and 45,000.

 

Meanwhile, the top 7 video entries were Shockpoint! from UM - Senior High School, Tabanog from UM, Downed Powerline from Jose Maria College, Call the Experts from Mindanao Kokusai Daigaku, Ingat from the Ateneo de Davao University, Game Over from the University of Southeastern Philippines - Sto. Tomas, and Untitled from the Philippine Women’s College. These winners received Php5,000 each.

 

Aside from these schools, there were also entries from the Christian Colleges of Southeast Asia, Davao del Norte State College, Gabriel Taborin College of Davao Inc., Holy Cross College of Calinan and University of Southeastern Philippines.

 

Present to grace the event are Davao Light’s EVP and COO Rodger S. Velasco and AVP for Reputation Enhancement Rossano Luga together with some executives and managers. AboitizPower AVP for Corporate Branding and Communications Wilfredo Rodolfo was also present to grace the event.
