Playground for the Davao City's Child Minding Center
Last August 29, 2018, Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. and Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. donated a playground facility to the Davao City local government unit for its Child Minding Center at the compound of the Davao City Recreation Center which is a place where working parents can entrust their children while they are at work.
The formal turn over was made during the inauguration of the Child Minding Center that was accepted by no less than Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.
The playground facility is made of repurposed or used wooden log poles, which is one of the sustainability initiatives of Davao Light. This facility is aimed to provide a venue for the children to have fun as well as develop their social and motor skills that support their growth development and learning.
“Play is an integral part of childhood and Davao Light is priviledged to be part of the children's development through this playground facility.” said Davao Light EVP and COO Engr. Rodger S. Velasco.
The same facility is now being constructed for the abused children in Balay Dangupan in Buhangin and is expected to be finished within the month.
