Davao Light turns over electrical laboratories to two public high schools in Davao del Norte

Senior High School students from La Paz National High School and Panabo City Sr. High School will now enjoy their fully-equipped electrical laboratory (e.Lab) facility after the formal turn over from Davao Light and Power Company, Inc. and Aboitiz Foundation held last August 7, 2018.

The facility will be for the students taking up Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) course.

This project is Davao Light’s support to the Department of Education’s Technical Vocational Courses for its K to 12 curriculum. The e.Lab will serve as a training facility to prepare and equip the students with the skill that will open doors for employment.

“Davao Light and the Aboitiz Group have always given the public school education a very special place in our CSR programs. We will continue to support DepEd in the need for more facilities for teaching and skills training. We believe in the importance of our youth and the difference each of them can do to make our world a better place.” said Engr. Rodger S. Velasco, EVP and COO of Davao Light, in his speech during the turn over in La Paz National High School.

The turn over ceremony in La Paz National High School was graced by the Municipal Mayor of Carmen, Hon. Virgie J. Perandos and for Panabo City Sr. High School,  Vice Mayor Hon. Janrey Gavina joined the event. Both guests of honor were very grateful for Davao Light's support for the youth development.

A total of 20 e.Labs have already been turned over to different public high schools. More will be turned over to schools in the Davao del Norte area of Davao Light’s franchise to supplement the learning and honing of the students' skills.
