Davao Light and Power Company

Certain parts of Davao City served by Davao Light and Power Co., Inc.'s ERA sub transmission substation experienced less than 10 minutes of power interruption.

The incident which occurred between 8:54 a.m. to 9:02 a.m. of May 24 affected the city's downtown area, Buhangin, Cabantian, Indangan, Pampanga, Sasa, and some parts of Toril area.

The proximate cause was due to an iron bar from a building construction which hit one of Davao Light's 138kV lines in the Buhangin area.

In order to immediately restore power supply in most areas, the faulted area was isolated from the grid. Repairs and maintenance in the Buhangin area was conducted until it was fully normalized at around 9:38 am.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by this power interruption, which is unscheduled. Proper actions will be undertaken to avoid recurrence of this event.
