Municipalities in Davao del Norte receive additional support for vaccination campaigns

Amidst the busy day-to-day operations of the Municipal Office of Kapalong, Davao del Norte, Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) and its social development arm, Aboitiz Foundation Inc. turned over laptops and medical supplies and equipment to be used for the COVID-19 vaccination campaign of the municipality in addition to the 500 AstraZeneca vaccine doses previously donated by Davao Light.

Protecting children from child labor through Project AGAKKA

Out of the total population of 31 million, more than 800,000 Filipino children are already working between the ages 5 to 17 according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). To address the significant number of working children, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) initiated Project AGAKKA (Alalay para sa Ginikanan Alang sa Kalambuan sa Kabatan-onan). This initiative is part of the Child Labor Prevention and Elimination Program (CLPEP) of DOLE that aims to assist parents or guardians of child laborers to become financially able and stable by providing them livelihood or emergency employment.

Lions taking action for the environment

Davao Light was awarded as the top taxpayer by the City Government of Davao

Third largest electric distribution utility in the Philippines and AboitizPower subsidiary, Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. was commended by the City Government of Davao as one of the 2021 top ten business taxpayers of the city during the recently held Pasidungog: Garbo sa Davao, an awards ceremony in celebration of the 85th Araw ng Dabaw.

The plaque of recognition was received by Davao Light's President and COO Engr. Rodger S. Velasco. The company was also given a Certificate of Appreciation as recognition for its contribution to the programs and growth of Davao City for the year 2021.
