Premier public school in Davao City receives equipment for module production

Davao City National High School (DCNHS) received equipment and supplies for module production from Davao Light and Power Co. Inc. and Aboitiz Foundation Inc. The turnover ceremony was held at the school’s gymnasium on March 21, 2022 and was witnessed by excited teachers who are also launching the first day of limited face-to-face classes.

Davao City and Sto. Tomas affected by flooding received support

A low pressure area hit Davao City on April 8, 2022 and set off heavy rains which flooded several barangays such as Tigatto, Waan, Maa, Brgy. 9, and Brgy. 5-A. Additionally, a portion of Talomo and Matina Gravahan were also affected. Separately, a landslide occurred at Marilog due to the heavy rains. Overall, 7,262 families were displaced by the recent flooding in Davao City.

Sta. Ana NHS students and teachers conduct coastal clean up for Environmental Month

float: leftSince the Aboitiz Cleanergy Park formally opened to the public in 2015, many public and private organizations have volunteered to conduct coastal clean ups and mangrove planting activities to enrich the forestation of the area and conserve the nesting ground of the critically endangered hawksbill turtle. These activities are in line with one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations (UN): to protect life below water by reducing or eliminating land-based pollutants, including plastic pollution and nutrient and sewage runoff, that adversely affect coastal habitats and communities.
