First pawikan nest of the year found at the Aboitiz Cleanergy Park

After the release of the rescued pawikan named Kadayawan last April 10, 2021, Davao Light and Power Co., Inc., an AboitizPower subsidiary, discovered a new pawikan nest at the Aboitiz Cleanergy Park in Sitio Punta Dumalag, Matina Aplaya, Davao City.

This is the first batch of pawikan eggs found this year in the park. It was validated and confirmed by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) XI and the eggs are expected to hatch in the first week of June.

5 Public High Schools Receive Electrical Tools and Equipment from Davao Light

Recognizing the importance of public-private partnerships for the development of the education sector, Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. and its social development arm, Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. recently turned over electrical tools and equipment to five (5) public high schools in Davao City.

 

Dubbed as e.Lab Plus, the project further expands the electrical laboratories (e.Lab) that Davao Light turned over to public high schools in its franchise area since 2014. The refurbished electrical laboratories are already equipped with the necessary tools and equipment.

Supporting DOLE XI's Project AGAKKA for a child labor-free city

A lot of children are forced to work at a very young age in the Philippines. This has led the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to create and intensify campaigns and projects to support the government's drive in preventing and eliminating child labor in the country.

 

One of these campaigns is DOLE XI's Project Alalay para sa Ginikanan Alang sa Kalambuan sa Kabatan-onan (AGAKKA). This is part of the Child Labor Prevention and Elimination Program (CLPEP) of DOLE that aims to assist parents or guardians of child laborers become financially able and stable by providing them livelihood or emergency employment.

Aboitiz Business Units in Davao give aid to Agdao fire victims

Hygiene items such as face masks, bath soap, and sanitary napkins were given to the fire victims in Agdao through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) of Davao City. Funded by Aboitiz Foundation, Inc., the relief items will greatly help families cope with the loss of property brought about by the March 6 fire incident. CSWDO Head Atty. Marliza A. Gallo received the items provided by the Aboitiz Business Units operating in Davao namely Aboitiz Power Corporation’s Davao Light and Power Co., Inc., Hedcor and Therma South, Inc., and Aboitiz InfraCapital, Inc. subsidiary Apo Agua Infrastructura, Inc.
