St. John Paul II College of Davao brings home the Grand Prize in Davao Light's 6th Video-making contest
The perfect combination of drive, creativity and heartwarming content led to the win of the students from John Paul II College of Davao in Davao Light's Short Video-Making Contest Year 6.
This year’s theme, Dare to be aware: Overhead powerline electrical safety, promotes electrical safety awareness to the public through video-making. This contest was open to all college and senior high school (SHS) students studying in the colleges and universities within the Davao Light franchise.
Among the 16 entries who vied to win this year, the video entry entitled Pa! from the St. John Paul II College of Davao bagged the top stop.
The winning video has captured the hearts of the viewers for its touching story and at the same time containing safety tips when working with electricity outdoors.
The Philippines Women's College of Davao and the STI College Davao bagged the 2nd and 3rd places, respectively, for their video entries entited “Niko” and “Gasa”.
Meanwhile, also included in the top 10 were videos entitled Play Safe Work Safe, Jumper and Electric Love which are all from the students of Malayan Colleges Mindanao; Saka from the University of the Philippines Mindanao; Tahimik from the Ateneo de Davao University; Lights Out from the Asian International School of Aeronautics and Technology; and Trabahante from the University of Mindanao.
Aside from these awards, special prizes were also given to the Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Poster.
The contest was also participated in by the AMA Computer College Davao, Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai International School, Lyceum of the Philippines – Davao, and the Davao City National High School.
Present during the event were Chief of Staff for the Office of Councilor Mabel Sunga Acosta, Lou Jane Bulaclac, Davao Light President and COO Rodger Velasco, AVP for Reputation Enhancement Rossano Luga and some Davao Light executives and team leaders.
The awarding ceremony was held last November 22, 2019 at Davao Light Admin Office, C. Bangoy Sr. Street, Davao City.
