Davao Light supports scholars from the Indigenous People (IP) community

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. and the Aboitiz Foundation turned over the financial support amounting to Php 270,000.00 to Ateneo de Davao University’s (AdDU) Mindanawon Initiative for Cultural Dialogue (MICD) last September 6, 2019 at the Davao Light Admin Office in C. Bangoy Sr. St., Davao City.

The financial assistance is in support to MICD's Lumad Scholarship Program to provide opportunity for the IP and Muslim Youth to get college degrees and equip them for better future ahead.


Davao Light has been supporting MICD for 18 years already.

AdDU Executive Vice President Jeremy S. Eliab received the support handed by Davao Light President and COO, Rodger S. Velasco. This was witnessed by Davao Light Community Relations Manager Fermin Edillon, AdDU Assistant Dean for Computer Studies Rev. Fr. Carlos G. Cenzon, Jr., S.J., Ph.D., and MICD Director Perpevina C. Tio, together with the faculty and students of AdDU.
