St. John Paul II College of Davao brings home the Grand Prize in Davao Light's 6th Video-making contest

The perfect combination of drive, creativity and heartwarming content led to the win of the students from John Paul II College of Davao in Davao Light's Short Video-Making Contest Year 6.

This year’s theme, Dare to be aware: Overhead powerline electrical safety, promotes electrical safety awareness to the public through video-making. This contest was open to all college and senior high school (SHS) students studying in the colleges and universities within the Davao Light franchise.

Davao Light Bayanihan spirit in action in the relief efforts for Mindanaoan earthquake victims

The Bayanihan spirit of the Mindanaoans has once again been demonstrated after the three strong earthquakes, which hit Mindanao last October 16, 29, and 31, 2019.

To answer the call to help the victims who were severely affected by the earthquake, Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. together with the other Aboitiz Business Units in Mindanao namely Therma South Inc. (TSI), Hedcor Inc. and Apo Agua have worked as one team in taking part in the relief efforts to aid the victims.

Committed to the conservation of the endangered pawikans

In support to the pawikan conservation efforts of the Aboitiz Cleanergy Park, Pagong Ako Kuyang Pilipinas, Inc. Duturtles Davao Pond President, Atty. Mans Carpio, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Davao Light President and COO Rodger S. Velasco.

The agreement is to formalize the organization’s commitment and desire to help in the conservation of pawikans, which includes regular coastal clean up and mangrove tree planting activities in the Cleanergy park.

25 years and counting: Davao Light Panabo celebrates its Silver Anniversary

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc.’s Panabo branch marks its 25 years of service to the areas of Panabo City and the municipalities of Carmen, Dujali and Sto. Tomas.

Established in September 1994, the Davao Light Panabo branch started its operations serving the north sector of the Davao Light franchise with barely over 20 megawatts with 25 thousand industrial, commercial and residential customers.

Today, the power load borders at 50 megawatts with roughly over 72,944 mixed customers.
